Potential causes for spring coming out of a disc:

  1. Clutch Judder over a long period of time

Clutch Judder Definition: Clutch judder is caused by the clutch components and the flywheel not meeting concentrically or mating properly. This generally happens after the vehicle has come to a complete stop and during the engagement of the clutch while taking off. The physical juddering is the clutch irregularly gripping and slipping as the pedal is let out.

  1. Driving the car in higher gearing while maintaining a low speed
  2. Excessive clutch slip
  3. Repeated drivetrain shocks, examples include towing heavy loads, aggressive driving (abusive upshifting and downshifting), worn or missing pilot bearing/bushing
  4. Excessive vibration in the assembly
  5. Missing dowel pins between engine and transmission creating misalignment in the assembly
  6. Hanging of the transmission upon install, bending the disc, or damaging the hub spline of the disc
