Potential causes for spring coming out of a disc:
- Clutch Judder over a long period of time
Clutch Judder Definition: Clutch judder is caused by the clutch components and the flywheel not meeting concentrically or mating properly. This generally happens after the vehicle has come to a complete stop and during the engagement of the clutch while taking off. The physical juddering is the clutch irregularly gripping and slipping as the pedal is let out.
- Driving the car in higher gearing while maintaining a low speed
- Excessive clutch slip
- Repeated drivetrain shocks, examples include towing heavy loads, aggressive driving (abusive upshifting and downshifting), worn or missing pilot bearing/bushing
- Excessive vibration in the assembly
- Missing dowel pins between engine and transmission creating misalignment in the assembly
- Hanging of the transmission upon install, bending the disc, or damaging the hub spline of the disc
