Potential causes of poor/improper shifting, 

  1. Improper adjustment to release linkage 
    • And/or faulty release linkage 
  2. Worn engine mounts 
  3. Worn transmission mounts 
  4. Improper installation of the shifter  
  5. Bell housing misalignment  
  6. Bent shift fork or damaged pivot ball  
  7. Damaged or defective pressure plate drive straps 
  8. Improper lubrication of the input shaft during installation 
  9. Clutch disc spring carriage hitting flywheel or flywheel bolts  
  10. Pilot bearing/bushing binding on the transmission input shaft 
  11. Worn transmission synchronizer rings
